Welcome to the Year 4 class page!
We are very excited about welcoming all the children back on Tuesday 3rd September.
Here you will find information, photos, news and updates about year 4.
Attendance
Children should arrive for 8.35 am in time for registration for 8.40 am. School starts promptly at this time and lateness does impact on pupil learning. School finishes at 3.20 pm. Children should be collected from the main playground promptly.
School Uniform
School uniform identifies the children as part of our school community and children should take pride in their appearance. Full school uniform should be worn at all times and we appreciate parents/carer cooporation with this. Full uniform consist of:
- A white shirt/blouse (not polo shirt)
- A school tie (red/grey)
- A red jumper/cardigan/sweatshirt with logo
- Grey/black trouser/skirt/shorts/pinafore
- Black school shoes (no trainers)
- A red gingham dress for summer
All items must be clearly named.
No make-up or nail vanish should be worn.
Hair below shoulder length should be tied up.
No jewlery except for small silver or gold plain studs for pierced ears.

P.E.
P.E. in year 4 takes place on Tuesdays. On that day, children must attend school in their full school P.E. kit. This is:
- Red sports shorts (no bermuda or cycling shorts)
- A white t-shirt with school logo
- A plain black tracksuit (no logos) for colder weather
- Plain trainers
Leggings are not permitted unless under P.E. shorts for religious reasons.
Hair must be tied once it reaches shoulder length.
Pierced ears with plain studs must either be removed or covered with surgical tape provided from home.
Things to bring
- Named water bottle
- Coat (weather appropriate)
Things not to bring!
Children are not required to bring stationery from home as the school will provide all required.
No games, toys or cards are to be brought into school.
Homework
This is set every week. It is important all homework is completed as it underpins the learning in school.
Maths
- IXL
- Multiplication/Division facts
English
- Bedrock Grammar (minimum 1 lesson per week)
- Spellings/Handwriting
- Bedrock (minimum 4 x 10 minutes or 8 lessons per week)
Topic homework may also occasionally be set, and will be completed over a number of weeks.
Homework will be uploaded onto Google classroom.
Homework Club will be available during lunch times for missing and incomplete homework.

Trips
We are looking forward to the fabulous trips that we have planned over the academic year. If you are able to accompany us on any of our planned visits, please contact the school office. You will be required to have a valid DBS check.
