Early Help Assessment & Team Around the Family

At Hillside Junior School, we want every child to ‘be the best they can be’, so we believe that every child deserves the best opportunity to fulfil their physical, emotional, intellectual and social potential.

Many families, at one time or another, need extra support. At Hillside Junior School, we use The Early Help Assessment (EHA) tool to help you. This is a national standardised approach that can be used across all services working with children, young people and their families to offer early intervention and support.  Our aim is to ensure that you and your family receive the right support at the right time from the right professionals.

The assessment is designed to be shared between professionals and used as a starting point for planning a positive way to support the child and to begin to make forward steps in meeting the child's needs. Key to the assessment process is working in partnership with families and the child or young person. Even if you do not live in Hillingdon, we can access support from neighbouring boroughs for you.

The assessment is completed to identify what assistance you and your family need and what to do next. Once an assessment is completed, the person completing the assessment may be able to help you themselves or may refer you to another service. In some cases, it may be more appropriate for a Team Around the Family meeting to be arranged.
