WHAT IS HILLSIDE SCHOOLS' PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION?
The PTA is your association! It gives all of us in the Hillside Schools community an opportunity to get to know each other and help the school. Oh – and have some fun in the process!
We hope that by sending out regular newsletters we can keep everyone up to date with up-coming events. We’ll let you know how the PTA is helping to provide items that will enhance our children’s time at school. And, of course, there’ll be info about what you can do to get involved.
Termly meetings take place and dates are published in the school newsletter.
IN THE LAST FEW YEARS……
We’ve held Christmas and Summer fairs, recycled stacks of clothes and screened films to several year groups. We run a surprise room at Christmas for children to buy a present for a loved one, and feed the families of year 6 children at the Leavers’ BBQ. We’ve had cake sales, ice cream sales, second hand uniform sales.
As well as getting to know other parents and staff better, we generally raise around £5000-£7000 to be spent equally between Infants and Juniors.
Over the last few years the school has spent the money raised by the PTA on playground equipment, netbooks and iPads, outdoor learning areas, smart screens for the classrooms, reading books and more.
